WhisperLAN/DPT [Fibercom, Inc.]

WhisperLAN/DPT is a fiber-optic Ethernet transceiver that connects to anyEthernet device. Built around the dual counter-rotating ringarchitecture, WhisperLAN/DPT provides a level of fault-toleranceunavailable in other Ethernet configurations. This product is ideallysuited for backbone applications in a campus, office, or riserenvironment. Because the WhisperLAN/DPT is built in a counter-rotatingring architecture, similar to FDDI, the cable plant can be easilyupgraded to FDDI when FDDI hardware is available.
